Uptake for the Foodbank has more than doubled in recent weeks. Outlay for perishable foodstuffs has increased fourfold. A strict referral system is still in place so you can be sure that all those who benefit are genuinely in need.
Some days at the Foodbank are much busier than others. On Thursday 4th June they handed out 120 food parcels, mostly to families!
Food items can be dropped off at the Gate Centre in Alloa, Mon-Fri 10am-3pm or at the permanent trolleys in all local supermarkets.
Cash donations can also be made and are regarded as a necessity. You can donate online or at the Centre. Please note, cheques must be made payable to The Gate Charity.
The Gate also appreciates used clothing, footwear, small household items and toiletries which are distributed via The Soup Pot and Home Starter Pack projects.
All donations are very gratefully received.
We plan to operate our School Uniform Bank from Ludgate Church and Alloa’s Town Hall this year to ensure that we have enough space to operate the project effectively, whilst ensuring that safeguarding procedures are adhered too, for example safe social distancing space for volunteers, staff, helpers and service users. As you know, there is no cost for any items to parents or anyone caring for a child, although we do welcome a small donation if possible but this is by no means a requirement.

Please Note: the final day for collections at The Gate Centre is Wednesday 15th July 2020. After this date, we are unable to accept donations due to limited storage space.
Please can you let your colleagues, family and friends know this information as we need as many donations of new or good quality seconds to distribute to vulnerable children within our community.

Alloa Town Hall. Monday 20th July to Friday 24th July 2020. Operating from 10am to 4pm. Open to the public from 11am to 3pm.
